ABOUT US

Summer 2003 TAROTE, Inc. was founded out of a lack of visual and performing arts programs offered to young people in Prince George’s County, Maryland. With so much of the Arts funding dwindling, it was a necessity to provide a creative outlet for youth to nurture their abilities and gifts. After the overwhelming acceptance of the Players Academy in Prince George’s County, a Los Angeles Academy was developed as well. Our innovative programs engage young people in exploring their identities and creative talents through processes of critical thinking, problem solving and self-expression. These opportunities lead to high scholastic achievement in higher education. Upon completion of a TAROTE program, our young people are ambitious, tenacious, and motivated to pursue any goal they wish to achieve.

Our Players Academy performances speak to the urgency of the issues youth face on a day to day basis such as peer pressure and self esteem. The weekly process has an amazing effect on participants and parents. The revelation that a student receives in their ability to dazzle an audience is breathtaking!
